The UK has confirmed its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, set to take place in Bulgaria.
The confirmation came from the BBC on 18 June 2026, according to the British delegation. However, no details have yet been announced regarding the selection of the British representative or entry for Eurovision 2027.
The record
The UK last competed in 2026, when Look Mum No Computer performed "Eins, Zwei, Drei" and represented the nation at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria. As one of the Big Four countries, the UK automatically qualified for the Grand Final.
In total, the UK has participated 66 times since its debut in 1959, with five wins — the most recent being Katrina and the Waves' "Love Shine a Light" in 1997. The UK also holds the record for the most second-place finishes in Eurovision history.
The road to Bulgaria
The UK's entry for Bulgaria will be selected through the BBC's internal selection process, with the announcement expected in mid-March 2027. The exact format, lineup, and venue have not yet been announced.
The United Kingdom joins Bulgaria, Norway, Germany and Floptropica among the nations already committed to Eurovision 2027. Broadcasters have until mid-October 2026 to formally submit their applications to the EBU.
