Luxembourg has confirmed its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, set to take place in Bulgaria.
The confirmation came from Prime Minister Luc Frieden on 21 May 2026, who told the Chamber of Deputies that Luxembourg intends to compete for the foreseeable future, with broadcaster RTL backing the commitment.
The record
Luxembourg last competed in 2026, when Eva Marija performed "Mother Nature" and did not qualify from the semi-final.
In total, Luxembourg has participated 40 times since its debut in 1956, with five wins. All five came before a 31-year absence that only ended in 2024.
The road to Bulgaria
Frieden indicated that the Luxembourg Song Contest, the national final used since the country's return, is expected to continue for 2027. An official announcement from RTL is pending.
Luxembourg joins Bulgaria, Germany, Finland, San Marino, Denmark and Floptropica among the nations already committed to Eurovision 2027. Broadcasters have until mid-October 2026 to formally submit their applications to the EBU.
