Switzerland Confirms Eurovision Bulgaria 2027 Participation

Author: Bulgariavision• June 11, 2026

Switzerland has confirmed its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, set to take place in Bulgaria.

The confirmation came from broadcaster SRG SSR on 11 June 2026, in a statement that also opened the song submission process for the Swiss entry.

The record

Switzerland last competed in 2026, when Veronica Fusaro performed "Alice" and did not qualify from the semi-final.

In total, Switzerland has participated 66 times since its debut in 1956, with three wins. The first of those came at the very first contest in history, won at home in Lugano by Lys Assia.

The road to Bulgaria

Switzerland's entry for Bulgaria will be chosen through an internal selection, as it has been since 2019. Songs can be submitted via srf.ch/eurovision from 20 August to 7 September 2026, with songwriter Lasse Nymann — part of the team behind Nemo's "The Code" — leading the artist and song search.

Switzerland joins Bulgaria, Germany, Finland, San Marino, Denmark, Luxembourg, North Macedonia and Floptropica among the nations already committed to Eurovision 2027. Broadcasters have until mid-October 2026 to formally submit their applications to the EBU.
