- 13 July 2026 BNT and the EBU cut the field to two: Sofia and Burgas. Varna and Plovdiv are eliminated.
- July 2026 A joint EBU/BNT delegation assesses both bids on venue, accommodation, transport and financial guarantees.
- 13 August 2026 BNT and the EBU name Burgas as the host city. Arena Burgas will stage the semi-finals on 11 and 13 May and the Grand Final on 15 May 2027.
