The government plan for Eurovision 2027: what is due when
The Council of Ministers published a dated plan in July. These are its deadlines, rendered as deadlines, and what is publicly known about the first ones.

Most of what a host country does before May happens in private. Bulgaria's case is unusual in one respect: the Council of Ministers published an action plan with dates in it, in early July 2026, before the EBU had named Burgas. That makes it the only dated Bulgarian timeline for the contest. Below is every deadline in it, and what has and has not been said publicly about the ones that come first.
A plan deadline is a commitment to do something by a date. It is not an announcement that the thing was done. This page keeps that distinction on every row.
Where the dates come from
The plan was published around 3 July 2026, before the host city was chosen; the EBU named Burgas and Arena Burgas on 13 August, together with the show dates. The money side became concrete on 20 August, when Deputy Prime Minister Ivo Hristov, after meeting Burgas mayor Dimitar Nikolov, announced a state budget of €20 million: a €15 million financial guarantee plus €5 million in operational funding, covering infrastructure, transport, accommodation and tourism promotion.

The deadlines that have passed, or are next
This page was written on 22 August 2026 and published on its scheduled day, so the first two deadlines are the ones to read carefully.
30 August: the executive producer. As of 22 August no public appointment had been found. The plan asks for three roles by this date — executive producer, creative director, showrunner — and the appointment, when it is announced, would come from BNT as host broadcaster. Until it is announced, this page names nobody.
10 September: the venue contract. Arena Burgas is the announced venue. A contract between the organisers and the arena is the plan's next item after the producer, and it is the kind of document that is often signed without a press release. An absence of news is not evidence either way.
30 September and 10 October: layout and money. The venue layout and the financial model follow within six weeks. Neither is a public-facing deliverable, so do not expect an announcement; expect their consequences to surface later, when tickets are announced.
How this fits the EBU pattern
The one date in the plan a fan will care about most is 15 December 2026: the creative concept and the official visual identity. That lines up with what the last two hosts did. Basel's theme art was revealed on 16 December 2024 and Vienna's on 16 December 2025. A Bulgarian deadline of 15 December for the concept, and a reveal in the same week, would be the pattern continuing. But the plan gives a deadline for the work, not a date for the reveal, and the EBU has announced no 2027 date for it.
The plan does not date the stage design, the ticket on-sale, the allocation draw or any EBU-side milestone; those belong to the EBU and BNT, not to the Council of Ministers. The calendar lists them as typical, with the previous years' dates as the evidence, never as announced.
What is not settled for 2027
