One contest that never happened, then six winners in six years, the last of them Bulgaria.

The Eurovision winners of the 2020s are Italy (2021, Måneskin, "Zitti e buoni"), Ukraine (2022, Kalush Orchestra, "Stefania"), Sweden (2023, Loreen, "Tattoo"), Switzerland (2024, Nemo, "The Code"), Austria (2025, JJ, "Wasted Love") and Bulgaria (2026, Dara, "Bangaranga"); the 2020 contest was cancelled.
The 2020s are the only decade in the contest's history with a hole in it. One contest was never held, six have been held since, and the most recent was won by the country that will stage the next one. Here is the decade in one table, then a few lines on each year.

2020: the year with no number
The 2020 contest was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is the only edition never held, and Rotterdam kept the contest for the following year.
Because it was never held, it has no ordinal. The 2019 contest in Tel Aviv was the 64th and the 2021 contest in Rotterdam was the 65th. Anyone counting the years since 1956 to get a contest's number will be one out from here on, which is why the archive stores each number rather than calculating it.
2021: Italy
Italy won in Rotterdam, which had kept the contest after the 2020 cancellation, with Måneskin and "Zitti e buoni". It was Italy's third win, after 1964 and 1990, and it came within a decade of Italy returning to the contest after an absence that ran from 1998 to 2010.
2022: Ukraine
Turin, Pala Alpitour. Kalush Orchestra won with "Stefania" on the largest public vote in the contest's history, months into the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It was Ukraine's third win, after 2004 and 2016, and Ukraine has reached the final at every contest it has entered.
2023: Sweden
The 2023 contest was staged in Liverpool, at the M&S Bank Arena, by the United Kingdom on Ukraine's behalf, because Ukraine could not safely host. Sweden won with Loreen and "Tattoo". Loreen had already won in 2012 with "Euphoria", which made her the second performer to win twice; the first was Johnny Logan, for Ireland, in 1980 and 1987. The win was Sweden's seventh, which ties it with Ireland for the most of any country.
2024: Switzerland
Malmö, Malmö Arena. Nemo won with "The Code", on the 50th anniversary of ABBA's win in Brighton. It was Switzerland's third win and its first since Céline Dion in 1988; Switzerland had also won the very first contest, at home in Lugano in 1956.
2025: Austria
Basel, St. Jakobshalle. JJ won with "Wasted Love", Austria's third win after 1966 and 2014.
2026: Bulgaria
Vienna, Wiener Stadthalle. Dara won with "Bangaranga". It was Bulgaria's first win since it first entered in 2005, and it is why Bulgaria hosts for the first time in 2027, the 71st contest.
What the decade says about 2027
In five of the six contests that were held, the host was the winner of the last contest held: the Netherlands in 2021 (the 2019 winner), Italy in 2022, Sweden in 2024, Switzerland in 2025 and Austria in 2026. The exception is 2023, when the United Kingdom staged the contest on Ukraine's behalf.
Bulgaria in 2027 follows the rule rather than the exception. The EBU has announced the dates and the venue: the first semi-final on Tuesday 11 May, the second on Thursday 13 May and the grand final on Saturday 15 May 2027, all at Arena Burgas in Burgas, with six preview shows between 10 and 15 May.
